Marcelo José Pletsch (born 13 May 1976 in Toledo, Paraná) is a Brazilian football defender.

He played with Ceará Sporting Club and Portuguese lower league club Oliveirense[1] before coming to Germany in 1999 where he first played for Borussia Mönchengladbach. The first two seasons his team has played in the 2. Bundesliga and then to the next four seasons he played in the 1. Bundesliga. For six years at the club, he made a total of 142 league appearances and scored 3 goals.
Then he moved to Kaiserslautern where he played in the 2005–06 season.[2] After a year of playing in Kaiserslautern, he left Germany and moved to Panionios the member of the Greek Superleague.[3][4] During his time at Panionios he made 44 league appearances and scored 6 goals.
In January 2008 he moved to Cypriot club AC Omonia, for which he played a year and a half, making 35 league appearances without a goal achieved.[5]
On 17 July 2009, it was announced that he signed a one plus one year contract with Serbian SuperLiga club FK Vojvodina.[6][7]
In February 2011 he returned to Brazil to play with Futebol Clube Cascavel.[8]
